Los Angeles based photographer Seth Lower has come out with a new book via The Ice Plant called The Sun Shone Glaringly. This 80-page softcover, perfect bound book pairs one liner film-excerpts with cinematic photographs of the location the movies once took place in. The narrative created through the words and images of plainly dressed characters lingering in uneventful L.A. scenery, introduces an interesting dynamic between drab reality and the glamorous cinematic story.
Through this series Lower strips back the facade that exists around LA, and as the title of the book suggests, without all of the production of Hollywood, you’re just a person standing in the middle of a concrete jungle, who can’t seem to get the sun out of their eyes.
