Maggie Shannon is a 26 year-old New York based photographer who recently finished a MFA at the School of Visual Arts. In two of her many series, Swamp Yankee and Teeth of the Sea, Shannon’s photographs capture rich color and texture related to shark fishing and seafaring life. Her vivid series of portraits and still life images also convey a strong attention to detail and concern for capturing some of the complexity in her subjects. Shannon was recently featured in PACKET and has been profiled by i-D magazine, amongst others.
